Big changes are happening to your store – have your say on how tobacco and nicotine products are sold in the UK.
The Tobacco and Vapes Act is now law. But there is still more to be decided by the Government that will directly impact our livelihoods. These new laws need to work for us and our customers. Have your say on what these laws will look like:
- Licensing – We need a tobacco licensing scheme that will protect responsible retailers and shut down rogue traders. Use the template below to ask your local MP to speak up for you.
- Enforcement – We want greater investment into Trading Standards and police to clamp down on illegal sales, stop criminal gangs ruining our high streets, and protect our staff from intimidation.
- Penalties – Irresponsible retailers have gotten away with dodgy dealings for too long. We want higher penalties and store closers for those selling illegal products and/or selling to minors.
All of this can only happen if there is greater collaboration between Government, local councils, enforcement agencies and convenience stores
